ICICI Pru Indo Asia Equity Fund

It is an open ended equity diversified fund by ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, launched in 2007. Asset size of the fund is Rs 239.66 Cr (31, March 2011). Rs 5000 is the minimum investment. Fund’s one year return is 11.5%. Nifty’s one year return is 7.2% only. 2008 was a horrible year for global stock markets. Nifty gave a negative return of 51% in that period. Fund also gave a negative return of 51.6% in that period. 2008 was a terrific year for Indian stock markets. Nifty gave 75% return in that period. Fund gave 76.3% return in 2009. Fund gave 18.3% and 10.3% annualized return in the last two and three years respectively.

Oracle Finance Services Software, Punjab National Bank, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, ITC, Grasim Industries, Bajaj Auto, Bank of Baroda, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Cipla, Power Grid Corporation of India, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Zinc, Mahindra & Mahindra, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Cairn India are the top holdings of the fund. Banking/ Finance, Oil & Gas, and Technology are the main sectors preferred by the fund. 65.82% of amount invested in equities. 52 week high and low of NAV is Rs 11.55 and Rs 9.60 respectively. NAV of the fund closed at Rs 10.73(1 July 2011).

It is an open ended equity diversified fund by Taurus Mutual Fund. This fund started in 1994. Asset size of the fund is Rs 167.68 (31 March 2011). Rs 5000 is the minimum investment. Sadanand Shetty is the fund manager. Fund’s one year return is 11.1%. Nifty’s one year return is 7.2% only. 2008 was a terrible year for global markets. Nifty gave a negative return of 51% in that period. Fund also gave a negative return of 66.2% in that period. 2009 was an excellent year for Indian markets. Nifty gave 75% return in 2009. Fund also gave very good return by 79.7% in that period. Fund gave 16.2% and 14.9% annualized return in the last two and five years respectively.

Reliance Industries, Infosys, ITC, Bharti Airtel, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, ICICI Bank, Rallis India, Coromandel International, Tata Chemicals, State Bank of India, HCL Technologies, Housing Development Finance Corporation, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, Crompton Greaves, Jain Irrigation Systems and HDFC Bank are the top holdings of the fund. Banking/ Finance, Oil & Gas, and Chemicals are the main industries preferred by the fund. 92.76% of the amount is invested in equities. 52 week high and low NAV is Rs 63.7 and Rs 52.27 respectively.
