Tata dividend Yield Fund

It is an open ended large cap fund by Tata Mutual Fund. Asset size of the fund is Rs 26.88 Cr (30 Dec 2011). Fund started on 27 October 2004. Rs 5000 is the minimum investment. Fund’s one year return is 9.2 %. Nifty’s one year return is (-3.5%). 2008 was a gigantic year for global stock markets. Nifty gave a negative return of 51% in the year. Fund also gave a negative return of 53.5% in that period. 2009 was a brilliant year for Indian capital markets. Nifty gave 75% return in the year. Fund gave a return of 85.4% in that period. Fund gave 38.7% and 16.5% annualized return in the last three and five years respectively.

CRISIL, Infosys, Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare, Nestle India, Tata chemicals, Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Polaris Financial Technology, Navneet Publications, ONGC, Catrol India, Oracle Financial Services Software, Bharat Electronics, Bharti Airtel and Zee Entertainment are the top holdings of the fund. IT, Oil & Gas and Chemicals are the main sectors preferred by the fund. 94.63% of amount is invested in equities. 52 week high and low of NAV is Rs 34.96 and Rs 24.87 respectively. NAV of the fund closed at Rs 34.14 (16 March 2012).

Religare Mid Cap Fund

It is an open ended large cap fund by Religare Mutual Fund. Asset size of the fund is Rs 51.9 Cr (30 Dec 2011). Fund started on 15 March 2007. Rs 5000 is the minimum investment. Fund’s one year return is 8.7 %. Nifty’s one year return is (-3.5) %. 2008 was a horrible year for global stock markets. Nifty gave a negative return of 51% in the year. Fund also gave a negative return of 64.8% in that period. 2009 was a brilliant year for Indian capital markets. Nifty gave 75% return in the year. Fund gave tremendous return by 102.9% in that period. Fund gave 41.8% and 7.5% annualized return in the last three and five years respectively.

Britannia Industries, ING Vaisya Bank, Godrej Consumer Products, Yes Bank, JK Bank, Redington (India), Sundaram Finance, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Pidilite Industries, DB Corporation, Jagaran Prakashan, Tree House Education and Accessories, Corporation Bank and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation are the top holdings of the fund.   Banking/Finance, Technology and Manufacturing are the main sectors preferred by the fund. 92.75% of amount is invested in equities. 52 week high and low of NAV is Rs 15.39 and Rs 12.05 respectively. NAV of the fund closed at Rs 14.33 (16 March 2012).
